Daredevil BBC Lincs presenter Scott Dalton scaled the heights of Altitude44 live on air.
Scott, the station’s breakfast show host came live from Skegness’ biggest and best new visitor attraction – scaling the four platforms and negotiating the 44 different fun obstacles to reach the top, some 21-metres in the sky!
“Wow, what a great experience, yes a little scary but you know you are perfectly safe and it’s brilliant when you complete it,” said Scott after his abseil from the top.
It was the first time the show had come live from such great heights and for producer Andy Roach it presented a whole new challenge: “We thought it was a great idea when we heard about Altitude44, and it has worked really well,” he said.
As Scott scaled A44’s heights, ably assisted by manager David Sneddon, he negotiated steps, walked the ‘plank’ to ring the bell and took a trip in the attraction’s Red Arrow taking him from one side to the other, before reaching the summit and leaping off for his abseil.
“Peering over the top you have to take a deep breath,” he admitted.
Scott was joined on his high wire adventure by Phil Brown and Carl Robertson from Boston-area roofing firm Phil Brown Roofing – invited along by the radio station, as regular listeners.
“Exhilarating. It’s a 10 out of 10 from us and we would recommend it to anyone, it’s great” they said.
